“We are the Eastmans (David, Gina, Emma and Olivia)! We have been members of Rush Creek Church for 17 years. Emma was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder just shy of her third birthday. When we first received Emma’s diagnosis, we were unsure of where to turn…. we had so many questions. Yet for every question we had, God had an answer.
He brought the best ABA (applied behavior analysis) therapist(s) into our lives, who helped Emma, and our family, thrive. We all worked around the clock to help Emma learn and grow. It’s not always been easy, but God’s been at work from day one. He has given us the strength and courage to push on, even on the tough days.
He brought us to a new church, one where Emma would be the first Special by Design member. It warms our hearts to see how this ministry has grown, and how so many families have benefited from it. We love seeing all the special needs families each Sunday. Special needs families often feel overwhelmed and isolated; therefore, inclusion is so very important.
He brought great friends into her life, who love her and understand just who she is. Emma enjoyed being a part of the Rush Creek Students group at Rush Creek, and always felt included.
He brought an amazing job trainer to us…she is a believer and truly knows the power of God. As Emma gains employment, and learns to drive, the possibilities for her life are endless!
As Emma continues to thrive, we know that she is God’s precious creation and He has great plans for her life!”
“I will praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful; I know that fully well.“
