PURPOSE:
The group minister is responsible for ensuring that the congregation is connecting with one another and building community through a strong, healthy, and growing small-group ministry. This position also includes recruiting, equipping, coaching and oversight of group leaders and coaches. Each groups minister will be assigned a specific campus or ministry and will be responsible for the growth of groups, leaders, and coaches in that specific area while working in collaboration with the larger Groups team to align the ministry across all campuses.
Leader Support & Development
• Meet one-on-one with leaders 1-2 times a year.
• Recruit, equip and develop each leader and coach in their role as group leader or coach.
• Guide leaders and coaches as they identify and begin to develop future leaders and coaches.
• Work with leaders and coaches to monitor the health, effectiveness, and duration of groups.
• Be available to minister and serve each leader and coach.
• Provide leaders and coaches with opportunities for personal development.
Leader Enlistment
• Connect with future leaders and provide next steps for development.
• Provide development opportunities for future leaders.
• Interview all new leaders in preparation for each group launch season and short-term group offering.
Group Administration
• Ensure timely follow up after each leader meeting.
• Verify that all group information is current and accurate.
• Track group progress and work towards successful multiplication of groups.
Other Responsibilities
• Participate in leading and serving at leader development events.
• Assist the Group Life Minister in developing leader development tools.
• Oversee the budgeting process for the Groups ministry at assigned campus.
• Provide pastoral support for assigned campus and any other campus specific duties as assigned by Campus Pastor.
• A follower of Jesus Christ and have demonstrated faith through full immersion baptism
• Have surrendered to full-time ministry
• Spiritually gifted in leadership, shepherding, and administration
• Received a degree in ministry or a related field (seminary background preferred)
• A heart for creating and leading environments of biblical community
• Significant experience in small group ministry required
• Coachable spirit and a commitment to working as part of a team
