Arlington Park

Moving Forward Together

Church Family,

Eight years ago, Arlington Park merged with Rush Creek in hopes that together we could have an impact on this community seeing the light of the gospel shine in a powerful way. During that time, God has moved in the people of Arlington Park and for that we are so grateful. People have found Jesus here, been baptized here, and found community here and we are thankful for the work God has done.

After many months of prayer, careful evaluation, and seeking the Lord’s wisdom, our Church Council has made the difficult decision to conclude Sunday ministry at our Arlington Park campus and help transition all Rush Creek family members to other nearby campuses.  Our targeted last Sunday will be October 25, 2026.

As a leadership team, we have prayerfully considered our long-term vision. In doing so, it has become clear to us that over the past eight years, having two campuses so close together creates a duplication of resources and limits our ability to be good stewards of what God has given us.

These decisions are never easy. We have wrestled with this for many months because we know this building represents much more than just a place to gather. This is where friendships were formed, prayers were answered, and burdens were carried together.

I want to say thank you to all who have served and faithfully invested here over these eight years. You have loved people well, served sacrificially, and represented Jesus with humility and faithfulness.

I also want to say thank you to Nate Garza and Courtney Bowland for their faithful service and leadership in guiding and caring for your campus. I am deeply grateful for the way they have served and helped make a lasting impact in the lives of so many.

I especially want to thank Pastor Brad Barksdale. Brad has faithfully led this campus by preaching God’s Word and caring for the needs of people at Arlington Park. We love him and his family and are thankful for the impact God has made through his faithful service. Please keep Brad, Stephanie and their family in your prayers as they seek what the Lord has in store for them next.

Church family, while this chapter is ending, we know that God is not finished working in and through His Church. The same God who began this partnership eight years ago is the God who goes before us now. He has been faithful. He is faithful. And He will continue to be faithful.

Over the next several weeks, I would encourage you to pray through what is next for you. Our Rush Creek staff is available to guide you in this transition of next steps. Below are the answers to some Frequently Asked Questions as well as information about who to reach out to in the coming days. Please let us know how we can best help you and your family through this transition.

Frequently Asked Questions

After extensive evaluation, leadership concluded that maintaining two campuses only 2.2 miles apart is not the best stewardship of church resources and leadership capacity.

Leadership determined that investing resources into maintaining a separate campus so close to Green Oaks was not the best long-term strategy.

Most ministries and volunteer opportunities will transition to Rush Creek Campuses.

Target date: October 25 – final worship service. This date may be adjusted based on attendance trends.
Opportunities to connect at our Green Oaks campus will be available. Contact betha@rushcreek.org for more information.
Our immediate focus is on caring for our church family through this transition and helping everyone connect successfully to other Rush Creek campuses.
As we move forward, church leadership will prayerfully evaluate the best long-term use of the property in light of our mission, stewardship responsibilities, and future ministry opportunities. If decisions are made regarding the building, we will communicate them openly and transparently with our church family.
