Our 2nd Annual Will Run for Food 5K/1M Fun Run will take place on Saturday, January 12, 2019.
The Rush Creek Compassion Center has been in operation as a ministry of Rush Creek Church since 2013. The Compassion Center houses our local outreach ministries which includes a Food Pantry, Health & Wellness program including Holy Yoga, English Classes, GED tutoring, After School tutoring, Kids Hope USA, Childbirth Education and Early Childhood Parenting classes, Prison Ministry programs and Community Engagement.
A program we have developed through these services is our Weekend Backpack Meals Program centered around students in our community schools. The Weekend Backpack Meal Program provides over 350 students with enough food to last carry them through the weekend while at home from school. The students are identified through their school counselors. We get a total number of students from each school and we then package and deliver the bags to the schools each week.
While we are able to help a number of students, we know there are many more that could use assistance. This program costs approximately $55,000 each school year. In order for us to continue providing this program and grow it, we need our community’s help! All proceeds from your participation go towards the cost of providing this program.
The 1M event will start at 8:30am with the 5K race starting afterwards at 9:00am. The course starts and finishes at the Green Oaks campus of Rush Creek Church located at 2350 SW Green Oaks Blvd, Arlington, TX 76017.
The 5K race is a timed event with awards for overall winners along with winners in gender and age group categories.
Come enjoy the festivities and partner with us providing Weekend Meals for students in need. Questions? Please email .
