Sharing the Gospel with your child
With our Faith Path event "Equip: Children's Salvation" around the corner, we want to remind parents that you are the God-ordained spiritual leader of your child. That can be an intimidating thought, but God equips His followers to fulfill the tasks He puts before them. One of the most challenging questions for parents to face is "How do I know when my child is ready to become a follower of Jesus?" In Faith Flows Down, by our Family Pastor, Curt teaches that "as you love God and His commands, faith should flow out of you in the form of seized opportunities, created opportunities, and special opportunities onto your children."
We want you, as the parent, to know that salvation starts with God. He calls people to Himself whenever He chooses in any way He sees fit. For this reason parents must rely on the Holy Spirit's leadership and He will give you all you need to lead your child successfully. Ultimately, as Pastor Curt says, "The best thing parents can do to gauge the spiritual readiness of children is to draw close to God and trust the leadership of the Holy Spirit. God alone knows the heart of our kids."
At our Faith Path event, we will share with you how to guide faith talks regarding salvation with your family and go over any questions you may have. The date and time for Spring 2017 is May 22 6:30 pm. Check our Events Page for more information
Summer Camps Registration!
Summer is approaching quickly and here at Rush Creek, we have two different children’s camp options.
For those who have completed kinder-6th grade, we have a day camp that meets at the Green Oaks Campus called KampOut!. It is put on by Kannakuk ministries. KampOut! is a 1-week high energy, non-stop excitement, traveling Christian day camp experience from Kanakuk for five to twelve year olds! Every KampOut! Kamper will see and hear that God is a loving Father and wonderful Creator who loves them and desires for us to love others. The dates for KampOut! are July 17th-21st.
For those who have completed 4th-6th grade, our overnight camp at Mt. Lebanon is a great option for them. It is a great week where kids can experience God on a new level while having loads of fun. There is a zip line, Rockwall, multiple pools, and tons of other games for them. It is a wonderful week that your student will not want to miss out on. The dates for Mt. Lebanon are June 12th-16th.

What's happening in children's ministry this Spring?
Christmas and New Years was great, but our team is so excited to be back and diving head first into all that the Spring will hold! Here are some events you may want to mark your calendar for:
March 5th or 6th — Family Time Fun Night. This is an event we will hold at the Green Oaks campus that is targeted for families with 3-5 year olds. We will have games, movie clips, race cars, and lots of high energy fun that will also teach families how to practically talk about faith in their home. We love this event because one of our biggest passions as a church is to help guide families on how to make faith prevalent in the home and not just rely on the church, so having a whole family there doing this hands on together is the best!
April 2nd or 3rd — Parent Dedication Orientation classes. Since revamping this class a few years back, this has become a favorite of ours to put on. Any parents that are interested in being dedicated by the church on May 14th must come to this class, where we hear from Pastor Curt, Russ, Scott, and Marty about faith in the home (are you seeing a trend with our passions yet?). All campuses come together to learn about the most important tools for raising a God-loving child in a God-fearing home.”
April 14-16 — Easter! One of the most amazing times each year in the life of every church. There is just so much to celebrate! We kick off the weekend with an Easter Picnic at different times and locations in the metroplex. This is the perfect opportunity to enjoy a beautiful day in the community with bounce houses, yummy treats, and friends. The picnics are followed up by Easter services! We always add some services on, so that means more people and more children than most days all year! So exciting for us. This is also the start of really promoting camps for us… so it is especially exciting!
I hope you are all as ready for the Spring as we are!
