This time of year is crazy, isn’t it?? There are parties, Christmas lights to look at, hot chocolate to make, and even presents to buy. During this crazy holiday season, we want to encourage you to spend some extra time talking with your kids about the meaning of Christmas. It is so easy for all of us to forget the true meaning of the season with all the busyness that Christmas brings.
We have a great resource online that is full of family faith talks for the Christmas season.
For Instance, the Christmas season is filled with wonderful wishes from family and friends. Each time you receive a special Christmas card or annual Christmas letter, take a couple of minutes to talk about the blessing that God has given you in those friends or family. Then, thank the Lord for those individuals and pray for them. Instead of throwing these beautiful pictures and thoughtful cards in the trash, put them in a special box or basket. Place the box/basket near your table. Throughout the year, pick a card as your family prays before a meal and spend some time praying for the family that sent the card.
There are many quick and easy things you can do as a family to help you remember the true meaning of Christmas, which is Jesus’ birth. As you talk with your kids about Christmas, use the hashtag, #RCKids, to share your experience on social media. We can’t wait to see what God does through your family during this Christmas season.

We had the best 6 weeks ever in Kids Ministry with Unleashed. On November 5th, we had Kids Commitment Sunday which gave kids the opportunity to bring something they love to donate to various shelters and non-profits in the DFW area. Across all four campuses, we had over 500 TOYS DONATED! It was amazing! We know being generous is always a sacrifice but such a demonstration of God’s love. These kids truly showed the adults what it means to sacrifice.
On Sunday, November 12th, we celebrated Unleashed with a party in all rooms. It was such a fun Sunday to celebrate all that God has done through our kids. We had bubble machines, parachutes, confetti canons, and of course, lots of balloons. It was a fun Sunday to relax and celebrate and thank God for how great He is.
Although the commitment Sunday has already passed, we gave each child who attended on November 5th a Magnet of Generosity ideas. Our goal is for each child to pick a few ways to be generous over the next two years of Unleashed. These include reading to a younger sibling, visiting a nursing home, or helping cook dinner. If your child missed out on the magnet, feel free to email
to figure out how to get one to keep on your refrigerator.
We love your kids and consider it a great privilege to watch God work in their lives!

"So what does "Unleashed" mean for kids"
"On October 8th, Rush Creek started one of the biggest series it has ever done by laying out our hope to double Kingdom impact in the next few years. It has led each listening ear to question “what is it God wants from me?” and has sparked many hearts to be generous in ways like never before. However, the kids have not been able to participate in the adult services, so they have learned about generosity in a way that is unique to them! All campuses have had leaders walk kids through a story from the book of Acts and shared about different Christians that were generous with God; in turn, we have encouraged kids to be generous with God too!
While adults will have the chance to fill out a commitment card next Sunday, our kids have an opportunity to put their generosity into action THIS Sunday (Nov. 5th)! We are encouraging every child to bring something that they love to church this Sunday to donate it to other kids in need. Generosity is about putting others first, and we want kids to lead the way on that this weekend! Whether it be a toy, game, book, stuffed animal, — whatever your child feels led to bring! — we pray your child chooses to participate in order to shine God’s light and live out generosity like never before. The toys will be donated to 8 different organizations that will bless others in our community in huge ways. We know being generous is always a sacrifice but such a demonstration of God’s love, so we hope your child chooses to be a part of it all this Sunday! "
