The Children’s Ministry at The Church on Rush Creek serves to minister families with children between the ages of 8 weeks old-6th grade. Our goal is to partner with parents during each child’s faith journey. We firmly believe that the family is the primary place for discipleship, and so we provide resources and opportunities for spiritual growth to take place in the home.

Our Sunday morning experience is specific to each age group for their developmental stage and our adult leaders volunteer weekly to build consistent relationships with the children. The Sunday morning curriculum will include a mixture of fun, worship, and small group discussions learning about the values and beliefs of Rush Creek – that everything is about Jesus! We strive to create a positive environment that will make your child feel right at home!

Our Wednesday evening experience, called Roots, is specifically for 5th and 6th graders. It is an interactive experience where students will explore who God is, who they are, and how they can live it all out in their lives. Students will be encouraged to have fun as they deepen their relationship with God! They will also have the opportunity to apply what they've learned each week through small group discussions and peer relationships. Another fun part of the Roots program is a segment we call LifeSkills—where students will learn practical skills they'll use everyday. Your student won't want to miss it!

To attend for the first time, please simply visit one of the Check-In stations to fill out a Connection Card and then our team will help direct you to the correct location for your child. We hope to see you and your family soon!

Faith Talks

Posted by Rush Creek Children on

Did you know that one of our main goals here at Rush Creek is for each family to have one faith talk a week? This basically means that you and your children are having one spiritual conversation about God each week. It can range from an in depth conversation about heaven or a simple reminder about sin when they mess up. We only spend an hour with your child each week, but you spend so much more time with your child.

Because of the importance of this goal, we try to equip you throughout the year with easy tools to help you in this endeavor. Visit your At Home Center this week to pick up a great thanksgiving resource and many other resources. The Thanksgiving resource can also be found here: http://59b0c85f7cdacc298fb3-141e42f27ca67a3b334621248b38f8be.r22.cf2.rackcdn.com/uploaded/t/0e4683196_1447858052_thanksgiving.pdf

Faith Path

Have you discovered your child’s Intentional Faith Path Plan? Our Faith Path strategy is designed to help you develop a clear plan to intentionally point your child toward Jesus in an age appropriate manner. The Faith Path recommends focusing on particular practices or preparing for certain milestones at specific ages and stages. These stages include Parent Dedication, Blessing, Family Time, Prepare to Lead Your Child to Christ, Prayer, Bible, Worship, Giving & Serving, and Preparing for Adolescence. The Church on Rush Creek has provided you with a free kit for each stage that includes training, resources, and ideas to help you guide your child along their path. These kits are available in the At Home Center at each campus or they can be downloaded here, http://rushcreek.org/faithpath.

At some point along the way, your child will be mature enough to make a clear decision to trust Christ as his or her Savior and then follow the Lord in believer’s baptism. When that wonderful event occurs, we would love for you to share your child’s story with your campus Children’s Minister. They will provide you with a special Salvation & Baptism kit containing resources to help you celebrate.

Fall 2016 Roots

Posted by Rush Creek Children on

Our fall is kicking off and with that another year of Roots is beginning.  All 5th and 6th graders are invited to join us Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:30pm starting September 7, 2016.  Roots is an interactive experience where 5th & 6th grade students will explore who God is, who they are, and how they can live it all out in their lives.  We play games, memorize scripture, and learn about who God is during small group discussions. We are blown away at how God is moving in this ministry and want every 5th and 6th grader to be apart of it.  We had a fantastic year and can’t wait to see what God is going to do this year.  Check out rushcreek.org/roots for more information!
